Demi Lovato (born August 20, 1992) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, actress and spokesperson. As a solo musical artist, Lovato released her debut album Don't Forget on September 23, 2008. Lovato released her second album, Here We Go Again, on July 21, 2009. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 108,000 copies in the first week. Lovato was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 20, 1992, and raised in Dallas, Texas. She is the daughter of Dianna Hart de la Garza (born Dianna Lee Smith) and Patrick Martin Lovato. Lovato began playing piano at the age of seven. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Lovato revealed going through painful experiences with bullying in the seventh grade. Lovato earned a high school diploma through homeschooling in April 2009.
